Out Of The Blue, Chris Brown Offers Up The Spring's Best Pop Song With "Forever"

Forget Madge, Mariah, Donna and all those other ho's putting out new jams -- Chris Brown's "Forever" is the best pop song you'll hear all spring!

I know, I know...this one caught me completely off guard, too! Added to iTunes today as a single, "Forever" is a new track available from the upcoming June 3 "Forever Edition" re-release of Brown's sophomore album, Exclusive. [Listen to "Forever"]

Let's get to the goods, though. You already know Fergie's "Glamorous" was such a guilty pleasure that it tipped the scale from being guilty to being just downright pleasure. Polow da Don, who crafted that one, goes totally Euro on "Forever," hooks Chris up to a vocoder and even throws in a filtered disco moment during the middle eight!

The lyrics employ the oft-used sex-disguised-as-dancing metaphor (think Rick Astley's "She Wants To Dance With Me" or Madonna's "Into The Groove"):

It's like I waited my whole my whole life
For this one night
It's gonna be me, you and the dancefloor
Because we only got one night
Double your pleasure, double your fun

I already drove down the freeway finger-poppin' along to "Forever" on repeat today, looking like a grinning idiot. And if a double decker bus, etc.

Between this and Ne-Yo's new single, "Closer," it's getting harder to complain that R&B is still stale these days. If there's any justice, "Forever" will hit #1 while spring's still blooming.
