Sophie Ellis-Bextor And Adam Lambert Are Flop City In The UK

First up, congrats to Kimberly Wyatt for being the first of the Pussycat Dolls to have a hit since version 1.0 of the stripper pack split up. "Candy," her electro-pop jam with Aggro Santos, debuts this week at #5 on the UK singles chart.

(Meanwhile, how many effing videos are we going to get with glow-in-the-dark colored eyelashes/lipstick this month?)

Alas, one diva who didn't fare as well is Sophie Ellis-Bextor. "Bittersweet," her lead single off forthcoming album Straight To The Heart, goes in at #25, which is her lowest-charting Top 40 hit to date in England. ("Me And My Imagination" previously held the record—it reached #23 three years ago this month.)

Also getting flushed down the flop dumpster is Adam Lambert. Over on the album chart, his For Your Entertainment has a lackluster debut at #36. Last week, the title track entered the singles chart at #39. Geez, if only Glambo had half of the strong female fan base over there that he does here...!

Maybe history will repeat itself across the pond and he'll have better luck with "Whataya Want From Me"?
