Katy Perry Wishes Every Song On The Radio This Summer Could Be "California Gurls"

The thought of Katy Perry and Russell Brand having sex makes me want to hack up a fur ball the size of the one Miss Pussy retched out this morning. But thankfully we're not here to talk about that!

Katy's new Max Martin/Dr. Luke-produced jam "California Gurls" has weaseled its way online, and like both the song's title and sunny single cover suggest, it's practically begging to be a summer anthem.

It's breezy, fun and completely throwaway—i.e. everything that made songs like Pink's "Get The Party Started" and Ke$ha's "TiK ToK" (not to mention Perry's own "I Kissed A Girl") house-party mainstays. Bonus points for getting Snoop Dogg to phone in a little pop-filtered pimp action.

You already tell that "California Gurls" will be the type of song that, upon the 4,938th play, will give you fatigue in the way the Black Eyed Peas' "I Gotta Feeling" did last summer. Of course, by saying that, I'm assuming it's going to be a huge smasheroo.

Wouldn't it kind of suck for Katy Perry if it flopped, though? Ha.
