Keane Have A Total Eclipse Of The Chart While Adam Lambert's UK Prospects Look Up Slightly

This week's big UK chart achievement comes from Keane, who debut at #1 on the album roundup with new EP Night Train. It's their fourth release, and fourth to top the album chart there. Time will tell how Night Train does here in the States, though it's been hovering in the Top 10 on iTunes all week. Over on the UK singles chart, the trio's "Stop For A Minute" debuts at #40.

Meanwhile, the Glee cast's "Total Eclipse Of The Heart" goes in at #9 and becomes the third version of the song to chart in the UK Top 10, after the versions by Bonnie Tyler (#1 in 1983) and Nicki French (#5 in 1995). Jan Wayne's rendition made it to a less-stellar #28 in 2003. The Glee version of "Total Eclipse Of The Heart" landed at #16 on the U.S. chart this week.

This brings us to Christina Aguilera, whose troubled single "Not Myself Tonight" manages to debut at #12. The song really does appear to be DOA across the board (it even failed to go Top 10 in Japan!), and the label needs to rush out the inevitable second-single ballad save ASAP at this point.

Meanwhile, after Adam Lambert's single "For Your Entertainment" debuted at a lowly #39 two weeks ago, the Dr. Luke-produced jam has now managed to inch up to #37. Chalk it up to his appearane on Friday Night With Jonathan Ross a week ago?
