U.K. grime stud Tinchy Stryder hits the top of the British chart this week with "Number 1." Catchy jam, that one, no doubt owing to the "featuring" of N-Dubz.But this of course makes me think of Goldfrapp's 2005 single "Number 1," which, incidentally, only reached #9. Even classier, there's the #6-charting "Number One" which spun off from kiddie show Tweenies in 2000.
Golly, I'm not sure which of these treasures is the best? Right now I'm thinking the Tweenies' packs a bit more of an emotional wallop.
Over on the album chart, Depeche Mode's Sounds Of The Universe debuts at #2. That's not Number 1.
