I've become such a conspiracy theorist about all these songs that sound like others, so it's time for a new feature: Pop Conspiracy. And how lucky we are to have such unbridled, raw talent for the first one -- Madonna and Victoria Beckham.
Check out how similar Madge's "Miles Away" -- rumored to be the third single off Hard Candy -- is to "Midnight Fantasy," a track of Posh's 2001 solo album (available on U.S. iTunes, if you can believe it).
Christ. At least now we know there's someone Madonna can sing better than. "Midnight Fantasy" was written by Beckham (right!!!), Anders Hansson and Johan Åberg, but nowhere on Madge's souped-up Timbaland jam are these maestros credited. How that Olde Vampyre constantly gets away with this kind of thievery boggles the mind.
FINAL VERDICT: Madonna is hereby sentenced to three months straight of listening to Posh's solo album on a continuous, horrific loop.
