Flushed Down Pop's Unforgiving Garbage Disposal: Stephanie McIntosh

As time slips by and you build up a virtual stockpile of MP3s on your computer or iPod—or, in this case, a scrap heap of posts about those who've come and gone over the years in pop—you start to wonder: what ever happens to some of these people?

Case in point: Stephanie McIntosh. It seems like only yesterday when I stumbled upon the d'luvvly "Jewels & Stone Mix" of the blonde Aussie Neighbours star's debut single, "Mistake." And yet—somehow it was way back in August 2006 (!!!).

Occasionally this jam pops up on shuffle as I'm Scotchgarding the drapes or feather-dusting the cats, and I'll be like, Oh, right—that hooker.

And remember how the video featured Ryan Carnes, that "straight" actor who always played ankle-grabbers when he was still getting work in the mid-'00s? I saw him once in his workout clothes when he was leaving the gym or something a few years back. It was total downstairs tingle.

What the hell were we talking about? Oh, right—Stephanie McIntosh. Good song. Shame she got flushed down the can after she flizz-opped in the U.K.

I think she said it best in the first few seconds of the video: "It's over."
