La Roux U.S. Album Coming In June

Well, after 27 years, now we finally know what happened to the other half of Phil Oakey's hair...

After becoming quite "a sensation" abroad, La Roux—aka singer Elly Jackson and knob-twiddler Ben Langmaid—will be doing a few North American club dates in April to promote the official release of their "Quicksand" EP on Interscope.

This is, of course, as opposed to La Roux's "Quicksand" EP that has already been on iTunes via the Kitsune label since December. Expect that thing to get yanked shortly.

The duo scored a #11 U.K. hit this past week with their early '80s-sounding synth jam "In For The Kill." Here's the vid:

La Roux's full-length album is being released in June. And if Lady GaGa's retro weave has indeed managed to blaze any kind of trail for electro in the United States, you'll be hearing a lot more from this pair.

Here's hoping the label doesn't slap Akon or Mims on any tracks to "Americanize" them, though. 'Cause that would just flatten Elly's $200 mop.

La Roux will hit Brooklyn, Montreal, Toronto, San Francisco, Palm Springs and Los Angeles next month. (Dates on the band's MySpace.)
