San Francisco, New York Virgin Megastores Closing This Spring, Leaving Only Three Left

And then there were three. It was already known that New York's Times Square Virgin Megastore was closing in April. But now sources have told Billboard that the city's Union Square Virgin Megastore—where, over the years on different trips, I bought CDs like Madonna's Confessions On A Dancefloor and the Killers' Sawdust—will also be shuttered at the end of May.

As well, San Francisco's Market Street Virgin Megastore—where I found the Japanese version of Scooch's Four Sure in 2000, and bought Pink's I'm Not Dead three years ago—is also closing down.

Only three of the stores remain will open in the U.S. for now: Orlando, Denver and Los Angeles (at the Hollywood and Highland complex, where the Oscars are held at the Kodak Theater).
