Thanks to recent comment on SCP, we were informed of Norway’s pop sensation Donkeyboy.
At SCP we always said we would love to hear of your favourite pop bands and thanks to our reader purpleberry, we’d like to share with the world this pop discovery!
DonkeyBoy were a band discovered on MySpace a few years back, their debit single Ambitions features guest vocals by Linnea Dale, is threaded with a bass line similar to that of Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean, raised through the charts and reached No.1 and stayed their for a massive 12 weeks! Only to be knocked off the top spot by their second single Sometimes.
Here is Ambitious. We love the hairstyles, outfits and a good old dance off!
The female singer (Linnea) reminds us of present day version of Kate Bush/Annie Lennox circa Eurythmics.
The third single released is one of SCP fav videos Broke My Eyes. The video representing oridnary Norwegians humming and dancing to the tune was directed by Egil Pedersen and Geir Jardar Olsen.
The band released in total, 6 tracks of their debut album Caught in a Life of which the first five made Top Ten hits.
And on their Facebook page last update was wishing everyone “Happy Easter” – Aaah thats nice, however what are they up to now?
We wish to thank purpleberry for recommending us these Norwegian pop stars. Perhaps purpleberry can give us a update on Donkeyboy movements? Are they in the studio again? We’d love to know. Keep us informed.
