Some of you may know or recognize Chip from the club scene, while others may have seen him active with the National Black College Alliance Inc, which is an organization he founded and currently holds the executive director position, George "Chip" Greenidge Jr. was recently hired as the new Chief of Staff to Mission Hill's Councillor, Michael Ross.
The phrase, "Its a small world" truly touches home here. My family, the Spencer's, and Chips family, the Greenidge's, literally grew up as neighbors in Cambridge, MA. Our families were very close, with our sisters being best of friends. And although my older brothers weren't the biggest fans of Chip while growing up, I know they appreciate everything he does for the community.
And just as they do, I wouldnt be surprised if Chip was literally running the state in 15 or 20 years from now. A great personality, with an even better heart, Chip is also motivated and realistic, and having someone like this in an actual political position could help bring the immediate change so many of us were hoping to get from Obama.
Ok ok maybe I'm going too far, but then again, maybe I'm not. Chip founded and runs the National Black College Alliance, in an attempt to help better our youth and the future of our country. He's already been an active part in the community, just on a small scale. Now he will be able to truly influence individuals but on a much larger scale... and who knows, maybe Chip could be the next Boston/ Black President!!
