Take That Sell 133,000 Copies Of 'The Circus' On Day One, Surpass Coldplay

Reuters is reporting that Take That's sixth album The Circus—released yesterday, the same day as Britney Spears' similarly-titled Circus—has sold 133,000 copies so far, and is well on track to top the official U.K. album chart on Sunday.

That's the best first-day sales figure in England this year, beating Coldplay's 125,000 copies of Viva La Vida sold on day one in June.

NME notes that Britney's Circus sold about 24,000 U.K. copies so far.

My copy of The Circus is on its way from Amazon U.K., and will hopefully be here tomorrow. I slapped down some extra cash for the "Deluxe" version with the book...which I'll probably never look at. Sexy.

The That's first single off The Circus, "Greatest Day," is atop the U.K. chart this week, giving the band a total of 11 #1s in their home country to date.
