Boston Marathon 2011 / New World Record / New American Record / Wheelchair Video

Boston Marathon 2011 has a new world record of 2:03:01... o yea, Kenya's Geoffrey Mutai just broke the previous world record of 2:05:52... not to mention the second place finisher, Moses Mosop, would have also broke the previous record...

Ryan Hall finished 4th overall and set a new Men's American Record of 2:04:03.

Mutai's record will not be recognized as the Worlds Record... It will be a course record here in Boston, but not an international marathon record... I'll have more on this soon.

Kenya's Caroline Kilel won the women's race with a time of 2:22:36, the fastest time since the standing record was set in back in 2002. And our countries own, Desire Davila, finished in second place, four seconds behind Kilel.

I usually hit up a BBQ and get drunk with a bunch of friends during the Marathon... not this year. Instead I'm in throwing up posts, and trying to make progress with my new company. Yea I definitely feel like I'm running a marathon myself... only problem is, it feels like I'm already on Heart Break hill and we haven't even left Hopkinton!?! It's cool tho, I'm ready for the challenge~

Masazumi Soejima and Wakako Tsuchida were also big heros of the day, sweeping the 115th Boston Marathon men’s and women’s wheelchair divisions, giving hope to their homeland of Japan, which as we all know is recovering from a devastating earthquake and tsunami that claimed the lives of so many.

I'd say today will definitely go down as one of the Boston Marathons most memorable days... but only time will tell~
