Take That To Take On Britney Spears

They haven't had a release here in the U.S. since their 1996 greatest hits collection, but nonetheless, Brit man band Take That's upcoming fifth studio album was mixed here in L.A., and the video for first single "Greatest Day" was shot here, too.

These shots were taken during the "Greatest Day" video shoot. Catch the song—which premiered on Chris Moyles' U.K. Radio 1 show today—below.

Initial thoughts:
  1. Not their most immediately-catchy song.
  2. "Rule The World" may have set the bar too high for them.
  3. Even "Patience" was a tough act to follow.
  4. Gary, call me!
Also, perhaps in one of the most Oh, no, they didn't!! pop moments this year, the That are not only releasing the "Greatest Day" single the same day as (the CD single for) Britney Spears' "Womanizer" in the U.K., but TT and Britney's albums will also be out the same day—and they're both called Circus! (Though, technically, Take That's is The Circus.)

Meanwhile, the American Take That Fanclub created a petition to get Polydor's U.S. parent company to release "Greatest Day" in the States.
