Why, you ask? Cash, children, CA$H! Says the British rock mag:
"The band said that they will perform old classics as well as material from singer [Delores] O'Riordan's new solo album, No Baggage, which was released in the U.S. today (August 25).Those first two Cranberries albums definitely bring back some fond memories. My friend Matt and I used to stay up and watch MTV's 120 Minutes back in summer '93, and caught "Dreams" before most people on this side of the pond had ever heard of the band.
"'Over the last few years, each member of the band has had time to work on different projects and learn so much from their experience,' guitarist and co-songwriter Noel Hogan said in a statement. 'Now the time is right for The Cranberries to bring all of this together and move forward.'"
That fall, I went to see Duran Duran perform in Pittsburgh and was pleasantly jazzed to find that The Cranberries were the opening act. Two months later, "Linger" became a Top 10 hit, and the band were suddenly one of the most successful rock groups of the 1990s.
