Sorry, but opening the Brits and the Grammys with the song was never going to save it. Releasing it as the first single was probably the biggest misfire since leading Achtung Baby with "The Fly"—a track which I love, though, face it, it's not really a single. Well, maybe the entire Pop album was a bigger misfire.
Anyway, why the label didn't go with return-to-form "Magnificent," "Stand Up Comedy" or "Moment Of Surrender" as the first single is anyone's guess.
