This is what I love about being from Massachusetts and the best sports region (NEW ENGLAND) in the country! Yankee fans, or just "Boston haters" in general, don't see these type of things. LOL, you gotta check out this video Paul Pierce filmed of fellow Boston Celtics Nate Robinson, Kevin Garnett, Shaquille O' Neal and Glen Davis. Boston fans clearly have a passion for sports, just like our players... but we also have a special chemistry between us, just like our players.
Last night the Celtics played and beat the Pistons, in Detroit. Now I only bring this up because I noticed how dead their fans were throughout the entire 4th quarter. I mean the game was basically going back and fourth the entire quarter and it was just quiet and dead. Seemed more like the Pistons were getting killed than a tight match. It wasn't until the last minute that the fans decided to attempt to get into it, but I don't think that helped much. They were better off leaving early and beating the traffic.
Now if that was in Boston at TD Banknorth Garden... you know that place would have been fired up the entire game, especially if it was a tight 4th quarter. And I'm not complaining about them being flat and acting more like golf or tennis fans, because we actually won on the last play of the game when Rajon Rondo threw a perfect lob to Garnet who made the game winning shot! I love the chemistry and passion they have on the court. Boston fans have that same love and desire... its almost like a force or energy sorta speak... that the Piston fans clearly don't have. And its not just Piston fans, but most of the country. I think most other states will love one team, but not all of em! No one loves their professional teams like Boston and the rest of New England.
But this same chemistry and passion us Boston fans have, is like a dose of medicine we give to our players. Our local professional athletes love us and what we represent. I think this lil short video of Paul Pierce with Shaq, Big Baby, Nate and KG is classic stuff. This period of Boston greatness will definitely be all about records and the legendary players and Doc, but we also gotta remember these random and fun moments. Which reminds me why I love video so much... even alil camera on your phone allows you to capture these priceless moments that could be relived time and time again.
*Just 2 more things
1- This was at the beginning of October, hence the masks. Which was before they were tearing it up, when people were saying this year was all about LeBron James and Miami, and they still having fun.
2- Many people think its Wacka Flocka rapping in the background. To set the record clear, its his beat, but that's the boss, Rick Ross, rapping on it... Just for the fun of it, here's that video;
