Rihanna Almost Tops The U.K. Chart, But Timbaland Has The Real Jams

Well, it hasn't climbed to #1 as it did in Norway, but this week Rihanna's "Russian Roulette" slides up to the #2 spot on the U.K. singles chart. Not bad for a song that I've already forgotten how the chorus goes on. Not trying to be bitchy, I just haven't come around to the song as some folks have after they initially trashed it. On the album chart, RiRi's Rated R drops from #16 to #19.

One set of tunes I'm wavin' two hands in the air over is Timbaland's new album, Shock Value II. Gone is the filler garbage that sometimes clogged up the first Shock Value (the 50 Cent and Fall Out Boy songs come to mind there). Instead, II comes in at a trimmed-down 13 tracks, all of which rage with some rather awesome pop goodness. (Listen to the one with JoJo, "Lose Control.") This week, Timbaland's "Morning After Dark," with SoShy and Nelly Furtado, comes in at #9 in the U.K.

But check out what I kinda find to be the most surprising jam from Shock Value II, "Ease Of The Liquor." It's total Euro-dancefloor fodder:

J-A-M. As for the rest of the U.K. chart: Y-A-W-N.
