Kylie Minogue Does The Hollywood Bowl, Unveils 'Better Than Today'

Needless to say, the Kylie Minogue show at the Hollywood Bowl here in Los Angeles last night was mind-blowing. She opened with "Light Years" and, two hours later, wrapped up her encore with "Better The Devil You Know" and a lounge-y, almost a cappella rendition of "I Should Be So Lucky."

The Beatles, Elton John and the Rolling Stones have all played the Hollywood Bowl—and it's where I saw Depeche Mode in August and Diana Ross last year—and just before her last song, Kylie said, "Playing at the Bowl is just beyond words. I can't believe I'm standing on hallowed ground. And if I think about it too long I'll get far too emotional."

Here are clips of show opener "Light Years," where she was lowered out of the cieling on a giant metallic skull (watch at 1:40 in, when the camera zooms out), and brand new song from her next album called "Better Than Today":

She did a really rad medley of "Shocked," "What Do I Have To Do" and "Spinning Around." And I have to say, it was beyond awesome that she performed a true-to-the-original—if not extended—version of "Better The Devil You Know."

I would have thought she'd have belted out "On A Night Like This" or "The One," but those were the only major omissions I can think of.

And, really, it didn't matter anyway. Wow-wow-wow-wow.
