Thank God for Diana Vickers and her single "Once," because it makes Joe McElderry, Leon Jackson, Alexandra Burke and all of the other kidz who've come out of The X Factor look like Simon Cowell's dull, carbon copy finger puppets—well, except Shayne Ward, of course. He can play finger puppet with me anytime he wants to.The Cathy Dennis co-penned jam "Once" debuts at #1 this week on the UK singles chart, and hopefully 18-year-old Diana has a long career (read: at least one more single that at least hits the soaring heights of #23-ish) ahead of her.
Otherwise, maybe she can consider a career as Leon Jackson' assistant. Because he could probably use an extra hand when filling in his entry forms for doing dinner theater in Leeds.
