And in 2004, the producers recorded their own album, with two unknown singers fronting them—a British guy named Adam Longlands and (dun, dun, DUNNNN) a 19-year-old Katy Perry.
The self-titled Matrix album never saw a release, but now apparently, for some odd reason—Oh, I don't know, what could it be?—the trio thought it was the perfect timing to put it out on their own label, Let's Hear It Records.
The CD is released on Tuesday. I listened to it yesterday, and it's not bad! Particularly, the tracks "Take A Walk" and "I Love You" stand out. And Adam Longlands, where are you now?
It does, however, sound like Katy was majorly aping Avril's singing style. And every song that comes on you start thinking, Oh, it's the same guitar intro from "So Yesterday"! No, wait...it's "Sk8r Boi"!
