At any rate, I hit up a marriage equality rally in West Hollywood in the evening yesterday (which is where I snapped the above photo—see more of the pics I took over at Kenneth In The 212). I literally had to go, because I've been cooped up for the past three nights undertaking the massive project of organizing and condensing my CD collection.
It's a two-sided effort—as I organize all my CD singles, I'm literally ripping them and throwing them onto my new iPod Classic.
I initially figured I'd be able to fly through the singles in one evening. Of course, I soon realized I had over 400 of the fuckers lying around!
The other part of the project is sifting through all compilations, soundtracks, mixes people have made me and holiday albums, chucking the plastic shell cases (I know—letting go is hard) and filing the discs and booklets into a giant CD wallet case.
But then I come across something like this and get completely sidetracked with playing the whole thing...
Oh, well—baby steps.
By the way, some jams I've totally rediscovered while sorting my CD singles:
* Jessica Folcker, "To Be Able To Love"
* Lara Fabian, "I Will Love Again"
* Peach, "Anywhere" (the House Radio Mix)
* Urban Cookie Collective, "Feels Like Heaven"
* S Club Juniors/8, "One Step Closer" (What up, Frankie Sats!)
BIG DILEMMA: Do I put Brian McFadden's "Real To Me" on my iPod because, hey—it was kind of a decent guilty-pleasure ballad? Or do I toss the disc into the wood chipper because he's a homophobic loser?
